Get ready for the 2019 Caravan Writer’s Guild Chairman’s Event!

Taking place between 10th and 14th June 2019 in Stratford-upon-Avon, the Chairman’s Event is a great opportunity for Caravan Writer’s Guild members to develop their industry insights.

The event includes seeing a motorhome factory in operation, touring Shakespeare’s birthplace and town, seeing inside a campervan factory, visiting the headquarters of the Camping and Caravanning Club and much more.

Attending the Chairman’s Event is also a good way to get to know other Guild members and to build your network in this fantastic industry.

Proposed Itinerary

Here are more details about the proposed itinerary:

Monday 10th June — Arrival day with a communal barbecue and welcome drinks in the evening.

Tuesday 11th June — Factory tour of a major motorhome manufacturer (coach transport included). Lunch will be held at the factory. After lunch, vineyard tour and wine tasting.

Wednesday 12th June — Day in Stratford-upon-Avon including a guided walking tour, lunch, a canal boat cruise, a Royal Shakespeare Company tour and in the evening dinner at a rooftop restaurant.

Thursday 13th June — Coach visit to a campervan manufacturer in the morning and onto a caravan and holiday home park for lunch and a tour. In the evening there is musical entertainment at the Racecourse.

Friday 14th June — Morning tour of the Camping and Caravanning Club headquarters in Coventry. After lunch, we return to Stratford-upon-Avon Racecourse for the 2019 Caravan Writers’ Guild Boules tournament!

All are welcome to stay for the rest of the weekend enjoying the Stratford Caravan and Motorhome Show during the day and free musical and comedy entertainment in the evening on Friday and Saturday.

Final departures can be on Tuesday 18th June after the Race meeting.

Event campsite

Pitch your caravan, motorhome or campervan at the Stratford-upon-Avon Racecourse where there are toilet and shower facilities.

Event cost

The cost of this event is £100 per person.

The price includes the lunches, camping pitches, coach transfers, Stratford tours and more.

If you are interested in reserving a place, please email Chris Apperley ( and Alison Owen ( informing them of how many places you wish to reserve.

Alison will raise an invoice for the deposit of £50 per person and your place will be reserved on receiving deposit payment.

The deadline date for the remaining balance is Monday 3rd June 2019 for which Alison will invoice.
