Chris has been touring in, and has a huge experience of, motorhomes since the mid 1960s with a period of caravan ownership in the 1980’s, returning to motorhomes since the 1990’s. Chris is the MD of, and runs the World of Motorhomes, Caravans & Campervans Website which has been around since 2003.
The Websites is based around Profile Pages written by Chris for a variety of companies that have anything to do with Caravans, Campervans or Motorhomes including anything from vehicle manufacturers, dealers, servicing and repairs and useful gadgets which are often tested by Chris. There is also an Information Centre kept up to date with news features in conjunction with Social Media.

Karla loves nothing more than hitting the road with her caravan in tow, and along with her partner Stephen she has already travelled thousands of miles from the south coast of England to the north coast of Scotland- and everywhere in between. With even bigger plans to explore Europe over the coming years.

Having the unique perspective of being a wheelchair user with an adapted caravan she started www.AdventureWheels.co.uk to share her experiences, and her interest in writing grew from there. As well as her blog, her articles have so far been published in magazines in both the leisure industry and the disability sector. She also uses social media to further promote accessible camping, and is steadily gaining a healthy online following.

Karla is passionate about travel and is keen to show the world that you can enjoy the great outdoors no matter what your abilities are- and that a leisure vehicle can be the perfect way to do it!

Colin’s principal role is as group technical editor for Road Transport Media, including Commercial Motor, Motor Transport and Truck & Driver, which involves driving anything up the largest trucks. Welsh by birth, and recently returned after 40 years of exile in Surrey and Sussex, he is a relative newcomer to the world of motorhomes and caravans. After a spell running a Bailey Unicorn Cadiz,, and a variety of motorhomes, he is now the happy owner of an Auto-Sleepers Broadway EK TB LP, although admits to preferring motorcycling. Main outlet for caravan/motorhome writing is Caravan Cruise Ireland. With a life-long interest in all things technical, he is an Incorporated Engineer, and member of IRTE and IMI.

Kathryn Bird decided to get out of the rat race whilst she was still young enough to enjoy it. Together with her husband and dog, she explores Europe by motorhome and motorbike, sharing her experiences on the award-winning travel blog Wandering Bird. Since 2018 they have explored over 16 countries and driven nearly 60,000 miles in their motorhome (not including the times they were lost!)

She is passionate about inspiring others to have their own adventures and experience the freedom of life on the road, whether it’s a long weekend or 3 months away.

Editor of Holiday Living and Park Lifestyle magazines, and Editor at Large for Park Home & Holiday Caravan and the Residential Parks Guide, Bella has specialised in leisure industry communications for over two decades.

Early years were spent running her own PR agency supporting events operators, stately homes/estates, park and leisure home manufacturers, parks and industry suppliers. That led to feature writing for Park Home & Holiday Caravan, editorship of Park Home News and editing and publishing Park Lifestyle.

A desire to showcase the industry to a new audience led to the launch of Holiday Living magazine for Kelsey Media in 2016, extending that scope further to include many other leisure options including short stays, touring, glamping and UK tourist attractions.

Holiday Living incorporates the Holiday Parks Guide, The Buyer's Guide, Summer Special and Kelsey's flagship park and leisure industry title; The Ultimate Lodge Guide, bringing them all under one roof for those interested in buying a holiday home in the UK.

Since 2007 James (Jim) has been the owner-operator of MotorhomeFun, the largest group of motorhome enthusiasts in the UK. MotorhomeFun publishes MotorhomeFun Magazine as well as numerous guides and information related to all aspects of the motorhome lifestyle.

Jim and his family are long-time users of motorhomes buying their first in the late 80s. In a previous career spanning 30 years, Jim worked in security, writing several books about Close Protection which to this day are still ‘required reading’ for security agencies around the world.

These days, most of Jim’s work is written in his beloved American RV which has a broadband satellite dish on the roof so he is always connected.

Cameron is a champion for all things caravan design related. He’s been caravanning since he was just a few weeks old, and gets his interest in caravan design from his Grandfather who was an architect by profession.

Together, they restored Cameron’s first classic caravan when he was just 18 years old, and today, Cameron has owned and restored over 100 classic caravans.

He co-founded the Retro Camping Club in 2015, which has gone on to be the largest Club in Europe for pre-1990 leisure vehicles, and started NotAnotherWhiteBox in 2020, celebrating all that’s cool, quirky and unusual in the caravan world.

He’s also an avid caravan historian, collecting hundreds of old magazines and brochures dating back to the 1920s.

Cameron has edited the Retro Camping Club magazine since 2015.
He has created and curated the Classic Sprite Caravans website.

Val Chapman left Warners Group Publications on 6 September to start a business, together with Richard Chapman, specialising in video, content and photography. She retains strong links with Warners, continuing to edit Park and Holiday Home Inspiration and its associated titles, plus Your First Caravan magazine.

Having worked in the entertainment industry for 10 years I have seen and been part of all manner of holidays.

It’s given me a broad¬spectrum view of the way people value their leisure time; an experience which I’m now translating into the caravan and leisure vehicle arena, indeed all forms of the industry, from park homes to pop-top caravans.

Seeking a new challenge in 2013, I decided to come back to my caravanning roots. I passed my B+E licence exam in October 2014 and regularly make good use of it.

I’m a writer, photographer and videographer with plenty of experience, also, in presenting (both live and video) and voice-over work.

I’m pleased to work with industry bodies including the manufacturers, The NCC, Warners Group Publications, Dealerships, both The Caravan & Motorhome Club and Camping and Caravanning Club and of course, the end user.

Andy is the owner and editor of the motorhome websites www.ukmotorhomes.net and www.motorhomemarket.co.uk.

A background in marine engineering means that his main interest is in the more technical aspects of motorhomes. He has an interest in motorhome-related legislation and has also carried out site reviews for Vicarious Books.

Other interests include a small amount of web design work and the part-time occupation of carrying out safety inspections on inland waterways boats.

Paul is Deputy Editor of Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome and has more than 20 years experience as a journalist, working on magazine titles as diverse as DIVE, Time & Leisure and Geographical Expeditions. Paul specialises in adventure and travel and has covered assignments such as sailing in the Seychelles and shark diving in the Bahamas. A lover of the great outdoors, he enjoys the opportunity to get out in a van and explore and says a camper van trip he took to southern Italy is one of his favourite adventures... ‘Alps, lakes and pizza – fantastico!’ Paul regularly posts on the Practical Caravan Facebook and Twitter feed.

My journey began in the editorial departments of local newspapers, writing features and road test reports for Newsquest and Reach PLC titles. The road tests gathered pace, leading to Road Tester and Road Test Editor positions at several national motorcycle magazines and weekly newspapers. Caravanning was a distinct change of direction, but a welcome one, allowing me to explore over thirty countries by caravan and inform others how they can do so with ease. My two children, Poppy & Charlie, benefit as well, broadening their horizons with trips across Europe as well as the UK.

Bio:
I have been caravanning since I was knee-high to a jockey wheel, originally in a 1969 Thomson with gas lights and a foot pump through to a modern Airstream Trailer with full central heating and off-grid capability.

I tour full-time in my Airstream with my faithful dog Dougal, transporting the motorcycle in the back of my Nissan Navara Pick-Up.

My time is taken up producing articles and projects for clients, and creating content for my own YouTube channel which currently has in excess of 11,000 subscribers.

Every family holiday Nigel had up to the age of 18 was spent in a caravan, and he's never got out of the habit. In 2003, after spells at Emap Active, Turret Rai and Incisive Media, Nigel threw in his job reviewing computers, to tour Europe in a Freight Rover camper van and headed off on an 11k mile tour of Europe.
On his return, he took a full-time role at Practical Motorhome.
He moved to Practical Caravan in 2006, becoming editor in October 2007 and remained in role until moving to become editor of the What Car? website in 2013. Writing about caravans and motorhomes is no longer a full-time role since switching to be a digital product manager in 2015.
Nigel now works for Haynes Publishing Group, and is the joint-owner of a 1980 VW T25 Reimo camper.

Chris Doree along with (Meli George see below) have been growing Vicarious Media Ltd since 2006.

Martin Dorey is a writer, lifelong camper and serial camper van owner. He also writes books as well as writing blogs, articles and advertising copy for all kinds of clients through his company Copy Monkey Limited.
His first, The Camper Van Cook Book, was picked up by BBC2 and was turned into a 10-part TV series, which aired in 2011.
Since Martin has written The Camper Van Coast, The Camper Van bible and Take The Slow Road, the first in a series of books about campervan and motorhome travel.
Martin writes a column in The Caravan And Motorhome Club magazine and features articles for MMM, Campervan Magazine and Coast Magazine. He was also a guest judge on ‘Caravanner of the Year which aired in 2016.

Sammy has a BSc(Hons) degree in Tourism, Leisure and Recreation Studies and I.T. Her passion is going on adventures in her caravan with her two children, Emily (17) and Daniel (13) and her motto has always been ‘Have kids will travel’. They have been on great adventures with their caravan in the UK and abroad.

Her first article was in 2005, where she wrote about testing Motorcaravans for Warners Group Publications. In 2011, Sammy started to work with her father, John Wickersham, on his Wicky World website and this inspired her to purchase her first caravan in 2013. Since then she has written numerous articles for The Caravan & Motorhome Club magazine, Practical Caravan, Practical Motorhome and appeared on The Caravan Channel.

Sammy has recently self-published a book called 'The Caravan Handbook' (2021), which is a detailed user-friendly guide that provides essential reading for caravan owners, and anyone looking to take their first steps in the world of caravanning. Presented in a colourful, easy-to-follow format, it has hundreds of colourful photographs and useful hints and tips panels.

Rob has been involved in the leisure industry since completing a BTEC in Travel & Tourism in 1993. Previous roles have included the promotion of tourism in Yorkshire and running a motorcycle touring company in the Australian Outback.
He is currently the General Manager at Alan Rogers Travel Group with responsibility for the ongoing development of the Alan Rogers website and publication of the Alan Rogers guides.
Since re-launching the guides in 2018, with a special 50th anniversary Europe edition, he has introduced a naturist guide and rebooted the popular 'Destinations' magazine which is distributed at the main NEC shows.
He regularly travels with his wife and young daughter in their 2008 Dethleffs 'Campy' caravan. A keen cycling fan, Rob can often be found in a field in Belgium during the 'Spring Classics' season.

Editor in Chief at the Camping & Caravanning Club and a former editor of Practical Motorhome

Iain is a senior technical advisor to the Camping and Caravanning Club and regularly contributes to Camping and Caravanning magazine. He is frequently involved in testing and reviewing a huge range of tourers and other camping equipment. He will happily take out the lightest technical tent to a 5th-wheel tourer and has been a judge on the Towcar Awards since 2008 evaluating cars for drive, practicality and economy.

Iain has also represented the industry and wider public in standards committees ensuring the voice of campers and caravan users is heard.

Natasha has been an avid Motorhomer since 2015, enjoying the freedom it allows for spontaneous travel. In March 2019, she sold her house to travel full-time in a motorhome, with her husband Jon and 3 cats, and hasn’t looked back.

Natasha previously worked in the motor industry and her passion for all things automotive seamlessly transferred over to the leisure vehicle industry. In 2019, Natasha (and Jon) were loaned a motorhome for 12 months by the Erwin Hymer group to tour and share their experience via social media.

Since then, Natasha has become a key part of the motorhome community, actively inspiring others to travel and seek adventure through her and Jon’s social channels ‘Life Beyond Bricks’. She runs their popular Instagram and Facebook accounts as well as their website. In 2023, she wrote an e-book called ‘How to prepare your cat for motorhome travel’.

Natasha is a resident speaker at Warner shows, delivering talks and advice plus she is part of the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show’s advice stand. Natasha was also commissioned by Adria UK to create ‘real world user' content around motor-homing for their website.

Alongside the motorhome she shares with Jon, Natasha has a micro camper and embarks on solo adventures, which she shares in her regular Campervan Magazine column. In addition, she took part in Bailey of Bristol’s Sahara Challenge in 2023, driving an Adamo through Morocco, Spain and then back to the UK.

In Jan 2022, Natasha set up her successful Virtual Assistant business, helping fellow travel bloggers, travel writers and content creators with projects, admin and outreach.

Having spent countless childhood hours building dens and doing keepie-uppies on caravan sites in Norfolk and around the UK, it felt natural to join Caravan magazine and celebrate all things related to the hobby into adulthood, too.

Caravanning fuelled my love for the outdoors and it instigated a passion for an active lifestyle that is still strong today.

Work-wise, my background is on local press and national automotive titles and I have a BA (Hons) in journalism. I'm a former editor of Park & Holiday Home Inspiration magazine, and handled the digital outlets of Caravan magazine, whether that was news, feature articles, social media or just being part of the community.

It’s an industry I love being a part of.

Andy has been involved with motorhomes and caravans for 12 years or so in various roles. These include helping to run RoadPro Ltd, which specialises in supplying 12V products to motorhomers and caravanners, writing about technical subjects and helping with technical enquiries for the Caravan Club.

For several years he worked with the Caravan Channel and Motorhome Channel TV shows as a presenter. He now makes the "odd" video on his own which can be seen on Youtube: just search for MotorhomeAndy.

All these things keep Andy busy but, when he does have any spare time he enjoys cycling round London, kayaking on the Thames & spending time in his company motorhome on the pretext of testing products. Andy lives in a house in Peckham, a narrowboat near Daventry and a Rapido motorhome wherever he happens to park. (He used to live in a Citroen 2CV, so this is a definite step-up).

Michael Howorth is one half of The Howorth’s an award winning team of professional freelance travel writers. Together with Frances, his wife, he is a Features writer of Motor Caravanner Magazine published monthly by The Motor Caravaners Club.

Michael and Frances write a monthly destination feature and a monthly technical feature for the magazine under their own names and write for other industry magazines under a nom de plume.

Michael is also the editor of Campervan Life Style Magazine

Michael has been successfully selling his writings since the 1970s and specialises by writing about travel as it relates to Superyachts, Yachts, Campervans and Motorhomes. Photographs by Frances Howorth always accompanies his writing and frequently appears independently in other publications, calendars, postcards and posters.

Both Michael & Frances are additionally members of the British Guild of Travel Writers, the Travel Writers Alliance, and the Yachting Journalists Association.

The couple have written several travel orientated books and have two more in the pipeline. They have been travelling the world together for the last thirty years initially in their own sailboat and now in Voyager their 6.4 metre campervan conversion.

Nigel is a lifelong caravanner (and I mean life-long!), and together with his wife Kay, they have toured extensively in both the UK and on the Continent.

Nigel served for thirty years in the Police, spending fifteen years on Traffic and the final twelve on Forensic Collision Investigation, providing highly detailed reports for various Courts, where he and his colleagues were classed as “Expert Witnesses”.

Prior to retirement, Nigel was invited to be a judge for the annual Camping & Caravanning Club/Practical Caravan/What Car? “Tow Car Awards” in 2007, something which he has continued to do to the present time. Following retirement from the Police, he have been a regular contributor to Practical Caravan magazine, covering all aspects of caravanning, from caravan reviews, through product reviews and technical information and installations to travel features.

In 2017 Nigel took part in Bailey of Bristol’s “Arctic Adventure” which saw the team drive from Millbrook to Ivalo in Northern Finland and joined them again in 2023 on the “Sahara Adventure” which had been postponed from 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic (he was part of the 2020 team too).

Nigel is Swedish company Alde's first Brand Ambassador, working closely with both Alde UK and Alde Sweden. He has also produced features for both the Caravan and Motorhome Club and the Camping & Caravanning Club.

Nigel regards himself as a caravan enthusiast who writes about his lifelong hobby (having owned caravans for the best part of forty years and towed for a few more!), and lets his work do the “talking”.

Nigel is the current Secretary to the Caravan Writers' Guild.

Julian retired early from the Police in 2018, having served as a Traffic Officer, and started touring in his caravan with his wife Karina and dog Fudge. Julian is one half of Here We Tow, a YouTube-based channel creating caravan, motorhome and camper-van content. Julian creates and edits the content and manages popular social media accounts for Here We Tow. Working freelance, his content is a mixture of lifestyle videos, how-to videos, product reviews, site reviews, and towing vehicle reviews and generally covers the broad spectrum of questions that people have about each taking the guesswork out of the equation. He also enjoys creating content at various shows and producing creative content to promote and raise awareness for caravanning.

I am currently working as a part-time freelance writer but was editor of the Motor Caravanner Magazine for over two years during which time I specialised in Motor Caravan and travel articles as well as general editorial and Motor Caravanners' Club biased items.
I have an MBA from the Open University.

Clive, an engineer/designer with 50 years’ experience in industrial vehicle electrical systems retired in 2005 but remains a consultant to the FLT business. Clive and Janet with their two children have had caravans and motorhomes since 1970 and got their first motorhome in 1972.

He refitted it a few years later to suit their specific requirements. In 1985 Clive converted an old Bedford coach which took them around France and Portugal in great style as well as a VW transporter refit for his father-in-law.

Caravans have included a Fisher Hollivan, Sprite Alpine and a Swift Challenger. Later motorhomes Autotrail, Concorde & a small Hymer.

Journalism came about in the mid-nineties with Clive now a regular contributor to the caravan industry’s top Motorhome magazines. Clive also enjoys and writes about Motorcycles and Ham Radio.

Former Technical Information Officer of the Camping and Caravanning Club with extensive tent, motorhome and caravan camping experience.

Now a freelance writer, Barry continues to contribute regularly to MMM and Camping and Caravanning Club magazines with feature articles along with product reviews and testing.

Alison is a year-round caravanner with over 35 years' experience who writes for consumer and industry magazines both in the UK and abroad.
Also undertakes photography & marketing consultancy work for companies.
She has been regular judge for the CAMC Design Awards for both Caravans and Motorhomes.
Alison was Treasurer of the Caravan Writers' Guild for 16 years until October 2023, Chairman from 2020 to 2022. Then immediate past chairman until she stood down from the committee in October 2023.
Alison was awarded Life membership for services to the Guild.

Terry is a journalist of many years standing who writes for both BtoB and BtoC print publications in the UK and beyond. His speciality is explaining technical matters in easy-to-understand language. To this end he draws on experince gained in nearly 50 years of caravanning.
Terry has been a Guild member since 2005 and has held every committee position apart from Treasurer. In recognition of this service he was elected Life President in early 2020.

I was part of the editorial team at Practical Caravan magazine for six years, followed by a PR career in the car industry working in the press offices of Vauxhall, Volvo and Volkswagen.

I now work for myself writing about and promoting the caravans, campervans, motorhomes and associated accessories, plus cars, vans and HGVs.

My most recent caravan adventures have taken me on a sub-zero trip to Lapland in northern Finland, and to Istanbul.

David was editor of Caravan Industry and Park Operator for 40 years from 1971 until his retirement in 2011.

During this time he also compiled the annual Caravan Industry Supplies and Services Directory.

Still organises the annual exhibitions at The Lawns (Harrogate from 2020) and Beaulieu as an agent for the HERCMA and manages to do some writing.

He has twice been both Chairman and Treasurer of the Caravan Writers Guild and is now a life member.

Peter was the founding editor of Campervan magazine having started out writing about campervans and motorhomes way back in 2000 for Which Motorhome.

He currently writes for MMM, What Motorhome and Campervan, as well as being a road tester and technical editor for MMM. He also enjoys doing commercial projects for leisure industry clients.

Specialising in the lifestyle and technical aspects of all things motorhome and campervan, Peter produces high-quality photography, and online content and can also be found presenting technical videos. Sharing the fun of the outdoors to encourage others to love the outdoor lifestyle is his passion.

When not writing, photographing or video presenting, Peter enjoys building kit cars (writing for Complete Kit Car), mountain biking, cycling, track days, trial riding and almost anything that involves wheels or an engine.

My original degree was in medicine, but five children left me little time to practise. The opportunity to write a book of local walks in a national series provided a welcome distraction, and more followed including several walking books and travel guides in France. I now know France as well as I know the UK.

For all this, the campervan proved invaluable, and some ten years ago I began writing travel articles for the magazine MMM.

My interests include the countryside, walking, cycling, chess, music, gardening, narrow-boating, and quite a lot more. I now live in beautiful North Wales where I was brought up, along with my husband and our two border collies.

"Work hard, have fun” is the maxim I live by. Luckily, I’ve always had jobs where these two aims weren’t mutually exclusive. I trained as a photographer, joining Practical Photography mag in 1992; moved to lads’ car mag, Max Power, in ’96; became International Editor for Emap in 2007, and spent a year at The Economist in 2010 (though commuting was no fun whatsoever).

Finally, the roller-coaster brought me to Caravan Mag, where, as a novice caravanner, I’ve embraced this brilliant hobby which combines my two favourite things in the world: travel and my family.

At Caravan, I’ve tried to focus on the five ‘f’s: freedom, family, friends, fun and errrm… fantastic photography. We just aim to make people smile.

Having many happy childhood memories of caravanning and river cruising around Ireland, Jarlath plans to rekindle these pleasant times again and relay the experiences and more in Caravan Cruise Ireland.

The new magazine has been in the back of his mind for some years and the first edition was published in March 2010. Jarlath is a motoring journalist for over 10 years specialising in cars, commercial vehicles, motorsport and now caravans, campervans and motorhomes.

Through his position as Group Editor at Fleet Publications, he represents Ireland on a number of International Juries such as Truck of the Year, Van of the Year and Trailer Innovation Awards. As a member of the Irish Motoring Writers Association, Jarlath has served as Chairman of the Irish Van of the Year Jury.

Sarah is Editor in Chief of Practical Motorhome and Practical Caravan magazines at specialist publisher Future; she joined Practical Motorhome in 2006 as Deputy editor, before working as Managing editor for a number of years. She took over the editorship in May 2017, and became Editor in chief of the two titles in October 2018.
Sarah caravanned with family as a child, and spent many holidays at campsites over the years. She has worked as a journalist since leaving university in 1999, including five years spent on motoring magazine Autocar.

Stephen is one half of Adventure Wheels, and together with his partner Karla, they aim to show that camping can be accessible to people with all abilities. He has a passion for adventure caravanning and their specially adapted caravan provides the perfect base for exploring, whether it’s the sandy beaches of Cornwall, the snow-capped mountains of Scotland or the rest of Europe.

His captivating photographs alongside Karla’s writing have so far featured in magazines both in the leisure industry and the disabled sector, as well as their website Adventure Wheels (www.AdventureWheels.co.uk). He also creates content which promotes leisure vehicle travel on his ever-growing social media accounts.
